Abstract Guidelines

Abstract submission opens on 01^st April will close on 20^th August 2025.
Abstract has to be submitted at the dedicated portal :
Registration for the conference is required to present a paper.The site will stop accepting abstracts from 20^th August 2025. Abstract received by e-mail will not be evaluated.
A presenting author has to submit the abstract himself/herself.
A presenting author can submit a maximum of 2 abstracts for consideration for SELSI NZCON 2025.
Decision of abstract evaluation will be communicated by e-mail to the submitting (presenting) author.
Top 10 abstracts will be selected for competitive paper presentation.
Top 10 abstracts will be selected for competitive poster presentation.
Competitive Paper Presentation for General Surgery & Gynae PG Residents.
Best 10 abstracts will be selected for competitive paper presentation.
Time will 6 min for presentation and 2 min for Q & A.
Competition will be held in Hall B in Bharat Mandapam on 7^th September 2025.

All abstracts must be submitted in English- Times New Roman, with a font size of 12 and double spacing. To ensure blinded review-no identifying features such as names of hospitals, medical colleges, clinics or places may be listed in the title or text of the abstract.
Do not include the names of authors and their affiliations in the abstract body. There will be provision of entering author details and their affiliation(s) in the submission platform.
The material in the abstract must be original and not previously published.
The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to clearly indicate the nature of the study. Abbreviations must not be used in the title. The title should not be written entirely in capital letters.
The size of the abstract is limited to 350 words (excluding title, authors, their affiliations etc.)
Structure your abstract using the following subheadings:

Background
Aims & objectives
Materials/patients & methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects precisely
Results: Describe your results in a logical sequence
Conclusions: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them
Limitations
Conflict of interest: Declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory

No references, graphs, figures or tables are needed with abstract submission.
Check spelling and grammar carefully. The abstract text will not be edited and will be reproduced in the submitted form in the e-abstract book.

The E-poster will be displayed on standard 42 (Diagonal) LCD
File format should be Powerpoint (.PPT)
Total size of the presentation should not exceed 10-20 MB
All slides should be in landscape format
Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported; please submit in a static PPT format only

Each slide title should be placed in a title placeholder.
The text should include (most likely as separate elements of the poster) Introduction, Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion and Acknowledgements. The poster should be self explanatory. Text should be brief and well organized.
It is suggested that font size of the text should be at least 26 to 36 point. The typeface chosen should be a simple and clear one (e.g. Helvetica).
The correct font size depend greatly on the fonts used in the ppt and the thumb rule should be that if its visible well on the computer screen it shall be visible on the E-Poster Display Screen.

When using light backgrounds (white, yellow, light blue) we suggest using dark fonts (black, navy blue, dark green).
When using dark backgrounds (blue, purple) we suggest using light fonts (white, yellow, cyan).
Avoid using red or green in any fonts or backgrounds as they are colors that are difficult to read.
Illustrations/images/photographs used in the E-poster should be enlarged enough to show relevant details.
